You can travel by Air, By Sea and By Land in and around Montserrat.

By Land:

Taxis are available throughout Montserrat. There are fixed rates for standard journeys. Drivers can act as guides and a number of different tours can be arranged.

Car Rentals are also available on the island. There are several car rental agencies many of which accept credit cards with addresses and phone numbers. Rental cars have red number plates and numbers beginning with R. A valid foreign driver’s license can be used to purchase a temporary license at either your port of entry or any police station. The license is valid for three months. The cost is EC$50 and you will need to produce your valid driver’s license from your country of origin.

Traffic drives on the left. There is a good road network connecting all places of interest. Montserrat has well-paved roads, but driving can be difficult for those not used to winding mountain roads.

Minibuses are available for sightseeing. A bus service between villages and the town is provided by privately-owned minibuses. There are no timetables or official stops.

By Sea :

By Air:

Montserrat is serviced by Gerald’s Airport. The Airlines WinAir and Fly Montserrat offers service to the island and connections from other major airlines can be made via Antigua and St. Maarten. You can also make a trip with Caribbean Helicopters from the neighboring islands.

There is a departure tax and airport security tax which is payable upon leaving Montserrat: US$13 (EC$35.00) for CARICOM nationals and US$21 (EC$55) for all other nationals.

This Montserrat based airline offers scheduled and charter flights in and out of Montserrat using two (2) nine-seater Britten Norman Islander aircraft. The airline currently operates two return flights every day. The flight leaves Montserrat daily at 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. and returning from Antigua at 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 pm.

Scheduled flights can be booked their website which now has an online booking engine. Fly Montserrat continues to offer on-demand charters to Antigua, Anguilla, Guadeloupe, St Kitts, Tortola and other islands . Day trips from these neighbouring islands, freight movements and round-the-island flyover trips can also be arranged.
